As a non-creedal church, First Congregational United Church of Christ Moorhead allows much flexibility in the wedding experience. As a Christian church, we strive, first and foremost, to be a place that exemplifies the radical hospitality of Jesus. We love love here at First Church and will do our best to make your ceremony an authentic reflection of your spiritual commitment to each other.
We are an Open and Affirming congregation. We intentionally welcome all. We strive to love, as we are loved by God, both freely and unconditionally. We recognize, celebrate, and affirm the full humanity of all individuals, with our God-given diversity. We do not seek to erase our differences, but to journey together in faith towards greater understanding and mutual respect.
We intentionally welcome, celebrate, stand with, and affirm all individuals including, but not limited to those of every ability, age, class, culture, ethnicity, race, gender identity or sexual orientation into full fellowship and participation in the life of the church. We are happy to celebrate love in many forms in the holy ceremony of marriage, uniting two people in love.
The state of Minnesota takes a legal marriage commitment seriously. The law recommends 12 hours of pre-marital counseling, including a pre-martial inventory. The counseling provided by Rev. Michelle Webber at First Congregational United Church of Christ satisfies this recommendation and is designed to highlight patterns in your relationship you might want to explore in order to ensure a strong and lasting union.

Wedding Policies
Who can get married here- We will perform a wedding ceremony for any two people who wish to be married, with the exception of relationships with demonstrated recent domestic violence. We are marriage equality advocates and celebrate love wherever it is found.

Fees-
Wedding Coordination Fee (for both on and offsite weddings) $50.00
Non-Member Sanctuary Use Fee $200.00
Non-Member Pastoral Fee $300.00
Organist $150.00
Bulletins
100 Black and White Bulletins on 20lb paper (single sheet) $50.00
Refundable Cleaning Deposit $100.00
This will be refunded to you after the day of your wedding if we do not need to clean the facilities after your use.
Kitchen Use Fee $15/hour

Deposit
Deposits are refundable up to 6 weeks before the wedding. $100 of the deposit is the refundable cleaning deposit. The rest is applied to your wedding total.

Donation
We love love and are in the ministry of supporting marriage in the full diversity of God’s creation. We have been advocates in our community for marriage equality. If you would like to make a gift in honor of your loving commitment so that we can continue in our ministry, please add that amount to your payment. Thank you.
Smoking Policy- There is no smoking in our facility.
Alcohol Policy- There is no alcohol allowed in our facility.
Day and Time- Weddings can be scheduled anytime between 8am and 8pm Monday through Saturday. We do not schedule weddings on Sundays.
How to reserve a date for your wedding-
- Check with the Office Manager to see if the date is open on the church calendar. [email protected]

- Fill out the Wedding Information Form and return it to the Office Manager HEREwedding_information_form.pdf
- Turn in a deposit check to the Office Manager $100 (church members) $200 (non-members)
