First Congregational United Church of Christ
A beacon for Justice and Inclusivity
We are an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ located in Moorhead, Minnesota. We intentionally welcome all people to join us in worship and work. We strive to love, as we are loved by God, both freely and unconditionally. We recognize, celebrate, and affirm the full humanity of all individuals, with our God-given diversity. We do not seek to erase our differences, but to journey together in faith towards greater understanding and mutual respect.
We intentionally welcome all individuals regardless of ability, age, class, culture, ethnicity, gender, race, or sexual orientation into full fellowship and participation in the life of the church.
We strive, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to become more like Jesus in our love and support of one another, in order to oppose and overcome any injustice, oppression and prejudice that continues in our society, our communities, and ourselves.
We celebrate that all have gifts to share that help us open up God's Word. At First Congregational United Church of Christ no audition is necessary.
We are a congregation engaged in becoming an ever more "Green" church recognizing our need to be stewards of creation and to engage in justice issues related to the environment.
With our pastor, Rev. Michelle Webber, our congregation works together to build on our values of justice, diversity, and community.
