A Celebration of Faith
What do you believe to be true about God? How did you come to believe that? What difference does that make in your life? These are the central questions of confirmation. We Currently have a 2 year confirmation program. We use both curriculum from the United Church of Christ and Re:Form curriculum from Sparkhouse. During the second year confirmands are paired with an adult mentor. Classes alternate betwen Saturday morning and Sunday after church, between September and May. Students may begin confirmation in 6th grade.
It is particularly important to us to support our youth in developing skills that will make them good citizens in a religiously pluralistic world. The first step is for them to have a good grounding in their own beliefs and the traditions of our church. The Re:Form curriculum gives youth a good foundation in the big question of Christianity. The UCC curriculum immerses youth in the history and polity of our denomination.
