Communion
A Celebration of Presence
At Holy Communion, we share a simple meal of bread and grape juice. Here, we experience the presence of Christ again. Together, around God's welcome table, we recall God's loving acts especially in Jesus. We experience our oneness in Christ, hope for a time when all will be fed, and anticipate the fullness of God's love and justice throughout creation.
We practice open communion. All who wish to be a part of the fellowship of Christ are welcome at our table. There is no test of faith one must pass before partaking in God's feast. This is God's table. This is your table. You are welcome here.
Our children participate in our communion ritual. We believe that families grow stronger when they take communion together and that parents teach their children about the value of this sacrament by example.
We strive to set a table that is open to all. To this end we serve only grape juice in our cup. We include gluten free wafers as an option. If there is any other way we can make our table a place of welcome for you, please talk to a our worship coordinator or to Rev. Michelle Webber
