Memorial Services
A Celebration of Life
A memorial service recognizes both the pain and sorrow of the separation that accompanies death and the hope and joy that are integral to the Christian story. The service celebrates the life of the deceased, gives thanks for the person's impact in the world, and commends that life to God. Its purpose is to affirm once more the powerful, steadfast love of God from which people cannot be separated.
At First Congregational United Church of Christ Moorhead, we are experienced at walking alongside families in grief. We will help you craft a memorial service that is an authentic representation of your loved one, a place to celebrate their unique personality, and a time to begin the process of letting them go to spirit. We believe that the memorial planning process has great potential for healing and that the rituals inherent in the service allow opportunities to express grief in healthy ways.
Rev. Michelle Webber will meet with your family prior to the service to listen to stories about your loved one. She will work with you to craft a memorial service that is an authentic representation of your loved one's life and includes aspects of your faith to comfort your grieving soul.
